My name is Adrienne Joseph, widely known as A Dose of Books, and I am a 31 year old content creator hailing from the vibrant streets of New York City. Amidst the hustle and bustle, I navigate life with my greatest creation yet, my 7-year-old son, who brings joy and inspiration to each day. Ever since I could remember, the world of books has been my sanctuary. From the whimsical tales of childhood to the gripping narratives of adulthood, I've delved into a myriad of genres, finding solace and excitement in each page turned. Thrillers hold me on the edge of my seat, while black romance novels stir my heart with their depth and authenticity. My passion lies in amplifying the voices of black indie authors, whose stories resonate with me on a profound level. Through my content creation journey, I've made it my mission to cultivate a thriving community within the book space, where voices like ours are celebrated and heard. Alex is 1/4 of the Reading Black Girls, an online platform committed to amplifying and promoting books by BIPOC authors. Since 2021, TRBG have interviewed authors, covered book fests, collaborated on campaigns with trad publishers, and were featured on Essence’s online platform. Allissa Patton is an avid reader and content creator whose platforms uplift and shine light on Black and POC authors within the fantasy and science fiction genres. Allissa is also a fantasy/sci-fi staff writer for Readin' Magazine where she explores the ways in which fiction can act as a mirror that reflects on and critiques real-world systems. Talking about all things Black and fantastical, Allissa is all about celebrating Black and POC authors whose stories are powerful and subversive.

Aziza is 1/4 of The Reading Black Girls, an online platform committed to amplifying and promoting books written by BIPOC authors. Since 2021, TRBG have interviewed authors, covered book fests, collaborated on campaigns with trad publishers, and were featured on Essence’s online platform. During her free time, Aziza enjoys spending time with family and friends, listening to a good audiobook, and enjoying a good brunch.

Azriana is a book lover and content creator who shares honest reviews, book recommendations, and creative content that celebrates diverse voices, especially indie authors. A big fan of thrillers, horror, and Black romance, she’s passionate about connecting readers with stories that spark conversation and build community.

Brandee is a bookish creative dedicated to making Black love centered and celebrated. With a soft spot for authors and a deep love for Black romance, she brings tender stories to life through heartfelt reviews, vibrant visuals, and a whole lot of joy.

Charlee is an influencer, podcaster, and content creator who uses her platform to celebrate books, culture, and all things Black. With a love for storytelling and community, she shares authentic conversations that inspire connection, joy, and growth. Her mission is to amplify Black voices, highlight creativity, and root for everybody Black to win. Whether through podcasting, content creation, or daily inspiration, Charlee is committed to creating space where we all shine.

Crystal Forte is a proud graduate of the class of 2008 and 2010 of Miles College. She also holds a Masters in English Language Arts Education from Alabama State University, a Masters in Educational Leadership and an Education Specialist degree from Troy University. She currently is a 18 year educator who runs the social media platform Melanatedreader promoting Black literacy and advocating for Black authors with an audience of over 26,000 followers.

Deanna is just a girl who continues to be amazed at where her love of reading takes her. If she isn’t reading books, she’s fangirling over books, and if she isn’t doing either of those, she’s probably daydreaming about the books she might write one day.

DJ Jackson’s passion is diverse books from BIPOC and/ or Queer authors. He is a co-host of the #QueerBookstagrammertour. He is passionate about literacy as an educator and parent. He is often found cuddling with his cats, drinking coffee, and reading a good book.

Edrick is a passionate book lover and content creator dedicated to making reading feel exciting, accessible, and deeply connected to real life. Through engaging videos, honest reviews, and community building, he inspires readers to explore new stories and share their own. Her focus on Black romance is a celebration of love, resilience, and the rich tapestry of stories that deserve to be heard. Through her content, Jaleesa amplifies the voices of Black Authors, ensuring their stories reach the audience they deserve.

Jasmine Bell is an author and content creator from Charlotte, North Carolina. Recently, she graduated from North Carolina A&T State University, where she earned her B.A. in English Creative Writing. Additionally, she is dedicated to writing books for Black girls with big dreams and using her content to uplift Black literature and authors. When she is not writing or reading, she is in the kitchen whipping up delicious dishes and desserts.

Johnny Lee Brown-Sampayo (they/them) writes horror fiction and nonfiction about the intersection of Black horror and Black history. They believe that horror is a unique vehicle for Black and Brown people to process our experiences, and that it can help heal collective and individual trauma. A New Orleans native, they’ve returned to their hometown and are working to strengthen communal education in the region. They live with their husband, mom, and three adorable cats.

Hi, I’m Jourdan and I love all things Black Fiction, especially Romance, Historical Fiction, and Fantasy. My corner of the internet is colorful and bubbly, just like me. I created Black Fiction University (part film club, part book club) to provide a space where we can celebrate and discuss the films and literature that shape Black culture. I’m excited to connect with readers and authors who share this passion.

Keisha was born in Brooklyn, NY, and raised by the weirdest quartet of individuals ever forced together for a common goal. She loves comic books, silence, movies, TV, musicals, philosophical discussions, and music. Keisha absolutely abhors small talk and is usually adopted into friend groups. Keisha is an HBCU alumna (1854) and former educator in Philadelphia with over 10 years of experience in the education system. Her authentic voice and strong community presence spark conversations that celebrate love, culture, and creativity. Whether content planning, curating self-care, or connecting with readers, Ladikreyol blends passion and influence to inspire book lovers everywhere.

Lourdes “Lo” White (Black book influencer) born in Bermuda raised (mostly) in Georgia. Proud HBCU graduate of the Great Bethune-Cookman University. Lo reads across multiple genres in the space of YA and Adult. Being able to share her love of reading with likeminded people while being surrounded by Black & Brown books is an incredible experience that has given her lifelong friends and memories.

Michael LaBorn is the founder of Left Unread Books, an imprint under Bindery Books, where he advocates to disrupt the publishing industry on behalf of authors of color in search of somewhere for their voices to be heard. Additionally, he is a bookish influencer who uses his platform to advocate for authors in the margins and to challenge systemic barriers in the industry. 

As a 20-year veteran Black ELA teacher and celebrated literary influencer, reading is my passion!! I’ve moderated on the Essence Festival Authors Stage and champion diverse and banned books that uplift Black voices. Through dynamic discussions, curated reading guides, and partnerships with publishers, I foster community and inspire readers to see themselves in powerful stories—making literature a space of joy, pride, and representation.

When I’m not deep in a book, I’m checking out a new coffee shop or exploring a new city. If it had magic, drama, or heat—you already know it was a good time.

Nisha (or Nish) is a creative/podcaster that looks to amplify black voices while embracing the diversity and complexity of black life, be it through cultural references, womanhood or books. She’s multifaceted and multifunctional in all things black cause she roots for everybody that’s black. If you ever encounter her she’d remind you to never leave home without your lip gloss, chafing cream and a book/kindle.

After a job loss in 2023, R’Chelle reignited her love for books, turning that passion into a thriving BookTok and the creation of Highly Lit—a diversely curated book club helping readers rediscover the joy of reading. Through creative content, curated experiences, and engaging events, she connects readers to impactful stories and meaningful shelves, all while championing diverse voices and building community in the literary world.

An old-school bookworm whose love for reading was sparked by childhood pizza parties and scholastic book fairs. I’m a social worker, wife, and mom who finds healing and joy in books. My happy place is a good read, a glass of wine, and charcuterie. I love talking about books online, in group chats, and with my in-person book club. I believe, just as Reading Rainbow taught me, that you can go anywhere with a book in your hand.

Shyheim Williams is a Humanities doctoral candidate with a concentration in English from Oxford, NC. He has served as the Digital Humanities Program Manager at the Clark Atlanta University Art Museum. His research centers Black speculative thought, archival studies and Africana Digital Humanities. In addition to working at the museum, he curates Black bookish content and experiences.

Sierra Tribble has been a book influencer and host for 5 years. Her favorite genres are fantasy, thrillers and literary. She has hosted several author panels at local bookstores and the NAACP National Convention. In 2023, she was part of the trio instrumental in revamping the ESSENCE Authors stage into literary conversations where she also served as the weekend host and moderated conversations.

Smitty is an East Coast-based storyteller and culture enthusiast who brings books, TV shows, and movies to life for his ever-growing community. Through his authentic reviews and contagious passion, Smitty has reignited a global love for reading and storytelling. His ability to connect on a personal level has made him a trusted voice in the media world, leading to dynamic collaborations with iconic brands like Spotify, TripAdvisor, PBS, and Sonic, among others.

Talia Cadet is a DC-based host and social media influencer with over 270K followers across platforms. Her audience tunes in daily for book, Black-owned business, event and travel recommendations. Talia's viral videos have been featured by Wall Street Journal, Rolling Stone and CBS News. She's also a sought-after host and moderator who has been in conversation with bestselling authors and a part of lineups for major cultural events like the ESSENCE Festival of Culture.
