So today, I’m working with Yinka, Where Is Your Huzband? by Lizzie Damilola Blackburn. This book gave me everything it was supposed to give.
Yinka is Oxford educated and is focused on securing that bag. You would think she would be living her best life. But no. Her mom and Nigerian aunties are all up in her business having full on altar call prayers over her so she can FINALLY get married. Chile, they even stopped in the middle of her cousin’s bridal shower to pray that Yinka find a husband. Yinka was like y’all not gonna keep trying me like this. So she implements Operation Find A Date for Rachel’s Wedding. Between her best friend and her latest dating app, she’s like, bet I got this. Lemme find this future husband real quick.
Y’all this book was laugh out funny and one that transcends cultures - cuz y’all know the aunties are always trying to get somebody married. This is the perfect palette cleanser in between those heavy reads so scoop it up.
