The Son of Mr. Suleman Black Book of the Day

What up book people? Make sure you follow @iamcaseyrkelley on all platforms especially Pinterest where you can pin the books from this series into a reading list. By the time I post this blog, I will be in Memphis for business. This means the books for the next few days will have a Memphis connection. First up isby a legend in Black lit. It’s The Son of Mr. Suleman by Eric Jerome Dickey.

EJD passed away early last year and this was his last book which came out a few months after we lost him.

There is A LOT happening in this one. It follows Pi Suleman who is a college professor in Memphis where he was born and raised. He is faced with a yt colleague threatening to blackmail him and lie that he assaulted her. He is a single man and pretty much a good guy who helps to take care of his family. So he isn’t really here for her bs. He meets a woman from London and is starting to get into her. But then he finds out his father, who was ballin and didn’t want anything to do with him, passed away. So he has to collect his inheritance but then also has to figure out wth is going on with the people showing up at his house. Like I said a lot.

I own about 16 books by EJD. I’d have more but he switched to street lit and that’s not really my jam. I got this one out of respect for his contribution to Black lit and I really liked it.

I’m guessing if you follow me, you have probably read one of his books so drop your favorite in the comments. And if you haven’t read this one yet, make sure you scoop it up.

You’re welcome
